From that point forward there has been gigantic development, the innovation has flawlessly been mixed in the financial business. This is all around reflected by the present situation of the financial organizations and the means they took to accomplish the equivalent. Investigation The best four banks that resemble the top mainstay of the financial business, overwhelms the general financial area of Australia. They are not permitted to converge with one another, however have enjoyed enormous scope obtaining of numerous little banks and remote banks that have helped in their development. These banks on the whole hold the world position of 80, in the financial area and corresponding to their piece of the overall industry they hold a position of 50. Their commitment is 100 percent to the complete GDP of the nation and the all out resources that they have in their books aggregately is equal to $960billion. Their after pretax benefit is 21 percent and they have been amazingly gainful over the years(Trieu, 2017). They give enormous number of administrations separated from the ordinary financial administrations like storing and loaning. The assistance in resource the board, finance the board and protection and furthermore adds to the GDP of the nation. Aside from these top banks, there are barely any different banks additionally that are for the most part predominant in the retail division these are known as territorial banks. They likewise add to the general economy of around 8 percent. Aside from these there are not many remote possessed banks additionally that give around 20 percent commitment to the absolute economy. Beforehand the primary focal point of these banks was brew of administrations however since the time has transformed they are concentrating on offering quality types of assistance to the clients. They have presented numerous high interests paying store conspire that has pulled in a great deal of clients. The biggest possessed remote banks make a commitment of around 2.5 percent to the all out economy and are additionally the eight biggest household banks in Australia. They offer numerous different types of assistance than the essential help of store the board and resource the executives. They help in making the general financial framework solid and reliable(Mayntz, 2017). Presently on the off chance that we break down the eventual fate of the financial framework in Australia, there are chances that few changes may happen that may change the general substance of preparing. Not many of these progressions that the banks must acquire their framework are To acquire the social angle in their work, with the goal that more clients are pulled in To get more advancement and improvement, this will help in making the general procedure all the more simple and basic. To enhance the general worth chain investigation with the goal that it will help in the board of the assets and furthermore help the individuals who are included there in. To ensure that the general client the executives framework is increasingly powerful and there are less blunders in the equivalent. This will help in improving the general consumer loyalty and will draw in more buyers. Every one of these progressions will help in making the financial business progressively solid. The banks that can present these progressions will be effective. These progressions are required to expel the bugs from the framework and make the general framework liberated from all sort of issues. It will be useful to the organization too to the customers(Dowding, 2017). It is significant for the organizations to endure the transitional stage from the conventional banking to the new mechanically propelled one. It is significant that new advancements and improvements happen once in a while. It is significant that the organizations can successfully present them in their framework. It is significant that the organizations can get away from the snare of commercialization and don't fall in it, as it will obliterate the nature of work(Bakir, 2017). Banking business is a people based business, the primary point of the organizations ought to be to serve quality administrations to the shoppers a nd don't popularize them. This will crush the validness of the work and furthermore make it less useful. Starting at now what we see is that the financial division is a developing economy and new changes are occurring each now and than and that will make the business solid. Suggestions Over the whole examination it very well may be said that the primary work of these banks is to ensure that they don't popularize their activities. In the event that they market their activities, at that point the financial business misfortunes its pith. This will obliterate the client confidence in the banks. Consequently it is significant that the principle point of the bansk must be to give quality help to the individuals who are having their confidence on them. They should attempt to get away from the snare of commercialization and offer great and quality types of assistance to the customers. This will help them in developing in the long run(Arnott, Lizama, Song, 2017). They should likewise attempt to ensure that an ever increasing number of mechanical developments are presented that may help them in decreasing the general expense and expel all the bugs from the framework. Regardless on the off chance that they believe they can likewise accept master counsel that can help them in the equivalent. It is additionally significant that there is disentanglement of the whole framework with the goal that individuals can utilize it without any problem. Complex techniques make it hard to work and individuals who are not that much taught think that its difficult to comprehend these financial administrations and utilize the equivalent in their every day lives. The government must ensure that the general guidelines and guidelines are not unreasonably intense, and individuals who are a piece of the economy can be profited by the same(Anginer Kunt, 2014). The organizations ought to likewise attempt to work in association and should attempt to produce increasingly outside speculation with the goal that it may help in the general improvement of the financial business and make it stronger.Unity is very

Triggers of Domestic Violence Attacks

Triggers of Domestic Violence Attacks Relationships Violence and Abuse Print Common Triggers of Domestic Violence Attacks By Buddy T facebook twitter Buddy T is an anonymous writer and founding member of the Online Al-Anon Outreach Committee with decades of experience writing about alcoholism. Learn about our editorial policy Buddy T Updated on October 04, 2019 Kittisak Jirasittichai / EyeEm / Getty Images More in Relationships Violence and Abuse Spouses & Partners LGBTQ Drug and alcohol use has long been linked to domestic violence, but the exact role of substance abuse plays in triggering violent events is not clear. The general consensus seems to be that alcohol and drug use may act as a catalyst in escalating conflicts into a violent outburst but isnt the actual cause of the behavior. Alcohol can play a part in domestic violence because it can impair the abusers judgment, reduce inhibition and increase aggression. There have been many studies done on the relationship between alcohol abuse and domestic violence and the prevalence of alcohol abuse during a violent episode has been reported from 25 percent to 80 percent. But there is no scientific evidence indicating a cause-and-effect relationship between substance abuse and intimate partner violence. What Can Trigger Domestic Abuse? What then does trigger violent episodes among intimate partners? What does cause a perpetrator to launch a violent attack? A new approach to researching domestic abusers and their victims may be the key to finding the most common trigger for a violent episode. By listening to actual telephone conversations between perpetrators who have been incarcerated for felony domestic violence (violence that resulted in serious injury) and their victims, researchers have been able to determine exactly what triggered the violent episodes. Julianna Nemeth and other researchers at Ohio State University listened to hours of audio recordings of telephone conversations between male abusers who were in jail and their female victims. The researchers were trying to determine the immediate precursor of the violent episode -- the one thing that happened right before the violence, she wrote. Accusations of Sexual Infidelity What the researchers found was that violence most often followed an accusation of sexual infidelity made by one or both of the intimate partners. Drug and alcohol use was often involved in these incidents, but not always. Previous research has shown that sexual jealousy played a role in domestic abuse, but the Ohio State scientists were surprised to find that this particular type of jealousyâ€"infidelity accusationsâ€"was the trigger that most often initiated the violence. Other studies have found that even when subjects are intoxicated, some still do not become violent or aggressive unless they feel threatened or provoked. Suspicion of infidelity could certainly provoke feelings of being threatened. Other Relationship Stressors I have worked in domestic violence intervention for many years, but still the findings shocked me, lead author Nemeth wrote. We never knew that it was the accusation of infidelity that tended to trigger the violence. Along with the accusation of infidelity as the main trigger for a violent outburst, the telephone conversations reveal a variety of other relationship stressors that also contributed to the intimate partner abuse. They include: A long-running dispute about infidelity in nearly every relationship.Chronic drug and alcohol abuse, which escalated arguments into violence.Untreated mental health issuesâ€"depression, preoccupation with suicide. A Red Flag for Violence The Ohio State researchers concluded that counselors and advocates working with domestic abuse victims who are trying to assess how much danger the victim may be in should ask specifically if accusations of sexual infidelity have been discussed by the couple. It is a red flag that the relationship may be volatile, they wrote. They also suggested that healthcare providers working with abuse victims should also screen for drug and alcohol abuse as well as mental health issues. Get the Help You Need Previous studies have also recommended linking substance abuse and domestic violence services. Although there are different opinions about what role drug and alcohol abuse plays in intimate partner violence, research has shown that providing substance abuse and domestic abuse services together can have a positive impact on ending the abuse. If you or someone you know is it a relationship in which there have been accusations of sexual infidelity and in which there is some form of drug or alcohol abuse, please seek help. There is assistance available in your area.

The Vietnam War or the Second Indochina War began in 1955 or ten years after World War 2. The United States direct involvement in the war started in 1964 and extended through 1973 but its indirect involvement started much earlier. At the end of the Second World War the United States and the Soviet Union were recognized as the two greatest military powers in the world. As the Soviet Union expanded their influence over Eastern Europe in countries including Bulgaria, East Germany, and China turned to communism and the United States grew concerned with the expansion of communism and its potential impact on the democratic nations of the world. Similarly the Soviet Union was concerned with the economic and military strength of the United†¦show more content†¦To understand the origins of the Vietnam War we must go back to the period prior to 1954 which was when Vietnam was a French colony. The French had colonized the South Asia areas of Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam in the late 188 0’s as part of their vast colonization movement. The French had justified this colonization movement by creating an ideology to support their expansion goals. This ideology was called â€Å"mission civilisatrice† which means civilizing mission in English. They felt that certain areas of the world were undeveloped and uncivilized and as such they required the oversight and management of France to help bring them modern ideas and social reforms. As a result of this expansion by France the country of Vietnam became a colony of France along with other locations. The area eventually controlled by the French was referred to as French Indochina. During World War II the Japanese took control of the Vietnam area from the French as the Japanese tried to expand their grasp on the region. The local Vietnamese rebelled against the Japanese control which was much harsher than the control the French had exerted. In an effort to weaken the Japanese during World War II the United States started to support the communist rebels in Vietnam who were referred to as the Viet Minh. The United States gave supplies and supposedly made the promise of independence to the rebels who were

1st and 2nd Peter Free Essays

1st and 2nd Peter The Christians around the time I Peter was written were undergoing some intense persecution. Socially they were shunned, abused, insulted and ridiculed, and Peter realized that the circumstances were getting worse. Nero was Emperor of Rome during the time I Peter was written. We will write a custom essay sample on 1st and 2nd Peter or any similar topic only for you Order Now He oversaw the persecutions of Christians. Peter wrote this letter to offer encouragement to Christians suffering this persecution. (I Peter 2:18-20) As a result the church in Jerusalem was being scattered throughout Asia Minor. Some of the ways Christians were being persecution during Nero’s time were, being nailed to crosses or sewn up in the skins of wild beasts and left in the sun to die a horrible and painful death. They were used as torches to illumine Nero’s parties. Through this time it was Peter who reminded them that Jesus has set an example for everyone and that although there is much suffering on Earth, they are promised an imperishable inheritance in heaven. It states in I Peter 2:21-23 that â€Å"this suffering is all part of what God has called to you. Christ, who suffered for you, is your example. Follow in his steps. He never sinned, and he never deceived anyone. He did not retaliate when he was insulted. When he suffered, he did not threaten to get even. He left his case in the hands of God, who always judges fairly. † That is what the letter rejoices. Although the Christians wanted so bad to get even with Emperor Nero and his people, they stayed humble, and pulled through their suffering (I Peter 3:9). The author calls Christians to be holy as God is holy, for they are a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and God’s chosen people. In the Bible it does state that as a Christian you have decided to not go back to the evil desires such as immorality and lust, feasting and drinking and wild parties and worshipping other idols, but you will be anxious to do the will of God (I Peter 4:2-3). The Bible says that there will be people who are surprised that you don’t participate in their wicked ways and they will say evil things about you and torture you (I Peter 4:4-5). This is much like the Christians during the time of Nero. Nero didn’t understand why Christians didn’t believe and worshiped like his people did, therefore he completely rejected their ideas and put them through a lot of torment. One reason for their persecution was their life-style as aliens and foreigners in the heathen culture. Peter wanted Christians to know that, yes, we as Christians are aliens and foreigners not only to Rome but also to this world. We are only visitors here, and in our short time we have here we must live and glorify God in everyway possible (I Peter 1:17 1Peter2:11). Nero is described to be fair- haired, with weak blue eyes, a rather large neck, and a potbelly. He came off to have a very strange mixture of absurdity. Nero was artistic, weak, sensual, bi-sexual, aggressive, extravagant, and later in life rather disturbed. Early on in his ruling, Nero came across as very a civilized person. He gave the senate more freedom and considered ending the murder of criminals and gladiators in the arenas, he made city wide reforms and was very upset that the law required him to put 300 slaves to death over the fact that their master, a powerful senator, was poisoned by them. Many historians report that he was very reluctant to do it. Later on in his ruling he became absolutely obsessed with the arts, recreation, and sexual desires. He had many affairs and began to go about his evil ways once his mother began spreading rumors. The main reason Nero persecuted the Christians was because of something that happened during the burning of his city. It was around 64 A. D. when the Great Fire of Rome took place. Rome had 14 different districts and only 4 of them remained untouched. The fire burned for a total of 6 days and 6 nights. At that time, people started a lot of rumors about Nero, saying that he â€Å"fiddled while Rome burned† and this rumor spread throughout Rome, creating other rumors. People believed that Nero was the one who started the fire so that he could totally wipe out Rome and start a new city named after him in its place, also that he could build a better palace. Nero didn’t like the fact that people were spreading rumors about him so he decided he needed a scapegoat to blame the fire on. He chose the Christians. Nero’s attempt to use them to take all of the blame off of him failed. Everyone turned against him after this tragic event and the senate decided that he should be flogged to death. But instead of going through this humiliation, he made the decision to commit suicide. He died in 68 A. D. and during his 14 years he managed to establish a bloody reign of terror and to the world he will always be remembered as an insane tyrant. The culture around the time of Nero was rather interesting. Much of the furniture they used was couches, not too many chairs, and they almost always reclined even at the dinner table. The most popular room was the lavatory were there were rows of toilets with arm rests were people would sit and talk for an hour or more. Baths were equivalent to that of a modern day athletic club. There were several rooms including the sweat room and the warm room where sweat was scraped off by slaves because soap was unknown. Foot races, boxing, and wrestling were minor sports in this era but chariot racing and gladiator contests where the most amusing to watch. These events tie in to the persecution theme of I Peter. When Emperor Nero decided to blame the Christians for the burning, he threw them in to the arena and made them face gladiators and wild animals, killing them. Peter says that we should expect ridicule, rejection and suffering and that persecution makes us stronger because it refines our faith (I Peter 2:21-25). Nero completely rejected the idea of family. After his stepfather adopted him, he was engaged to his stepsister Octavia, and after awhile he became involved with a woman named Acte. As he became even more lustful, he began having an affair with another woman and his mother got enraged and sided with Octavia. He then attempted to kill his mother, more than once it was said. He tried poisoning her 3 times, he also tried to murder her by loosening her ceiling on a boat and almost drowning her but she managed to escape. After his failing attempts, he then hired an assassin who clubbed and stabbed her to her death in 59 A. D. Peter truly encouraged the idea of family life in the fact that he urged all family members to treat other with sympathy, love, tenderness and humility (I Peter Chapter 3). Finally, the theme that is found mostly in II Peter is the false teachings. One of the reasons that Nero persecuted almost all the Christians was that fact that they didn’t conform to the heathen culture that he encouraged during his reign. Heathen culture emphasize the importance of relationships with gods and goddesses, ancestors, spirits of the land, and other’s in the community. Since the Christians living in Rome at the time believed in the one true God they were mocked and tortured, but in no way did they give into the false teachings that were in their surroundings ( II Peter chapter 2) Works Cited Nosotro, Rit. â€Å"Nero. † 13. 05. 2007. 13. 05. 07 . Looking Up To free essay sample

Everyone on Earth is different, so everyone is going to have different inspirations. When it comes to me, I aspire to become more of a normal person like him. Because his story hit so close to home for me, it seemed like looking in a mirror. The person that has impacted my life so much is my friend, Mark. It may seem odd that I picked just a normal guy; add that to the fact that I have not known him too long, but I have very good reasons. One of such reasons is the fact that he has gone through many hardships in his life, but he’s come out on the other side a better person than before said hardships. This inspired me to become a better person like him because I have gone through many of the same hardships as him, but the difference was that I did not take anything from them. We will write a custom essay sample on Looking Up To or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page If anything, I let these situations make me a more bitter person. However, after meeting Mark, I realized that I should not let these situations define me as a person. However, I did not choose Mark as my inspiration for for only one reason; I also chose him for everything he has physically done for me. One such example is after I went through some prolonged family problems, I talked to him about it, and he talked me down and helped me realize that these problems are not everlasting. Basically, any time that I was going through a rough patch after I met Mark, he helped me to realize why I should not worry too much about it and how to do that. Although this is not as notable as the others, I still feel it should be addressed; any time that I had trouble with my math or engineering, he helped me to understand it which helped me pass. Overall, Mark has made such a positive impact on my life that I have completely changed my way of thinking about life. He has taught me to take positives out of the negatives in life and to always be a good person, even if you have had a bad day. No matter what, Mark will always have more impact than any celebrity or his torical figure, and I think it is blatantly obvious why that is.

Now I drink in front of a mirror. And I drink too much, way too much; my doctor drew blood -  he ran a tab! I went to see my doctor. Doctor, every morning when I get up and look in the mirror... I feel like throwing up. Whats wrong with me? He said, I dont know but your eyesight is perfect. Last week I told my psychiatrist, I keep thinking about suicide. He told me from now on I have to pay in advance. Sex Im at the age where I want two girls. In case I fall asleep, they will have someone to talk to. My sex life is terrible; my wife put a mirror over the dogs bed.  Actually  she did put a mirror over our bed. She says she likes to watch herself laugh. The big difference between sex for money and sex for free is that sex for money usually costs a lot less. A girl phoned me the other day and said, Come on over, theres nobody home. I went over. Nobody was home. During sex, my girlfriend always wants to talk to me. Just the other night she called me from a hotel. I once went out with this wild girl. She made French toast and got her tongue caught in the toaster. My wife only has sex with me for a purpose. Last night it was to time an egg. With girls, I dont think right. I had a date with one girl, she had mirrors all over her bedroom. She told me to come over and bring a bottle. I got Windex. Im taking Viagra and drinking prune juice - I dont know if Im coming or going. I got myself good this morning too. I did my pushups in the nude; I didnt see the mouse trap. I know the best way to get girls. I hang out at prisons and wait for parolees. I asked my wife if she enjoys a cigarette after sex and she said, No, one drag is enough. I saved a girl from being attacked last night. I controlled myself. Im a bad lover. I once caught a peeping tom booing me. Self My problem is that I appeal to everyone that can do me absolutely no good. One year they asked me to be poster boy - for birth control. You wanna  have  laughs? Do what I do. When I go through a tollbooth, I keep going. I tell the guy, The car behind me is paying for two. I found there was only one way to look thin:  hang out with fat people. My psychiatrist told me I was crazy and I said I want a second opinion. He said,  okay, youre ugly too. Im so ugly... I worked in a pet shop, and people kept asking how big Id get. I was such an ugly kid†¦ when I played in the sandbox, the cat kept covering me up. I get no respect. The way my luck is running, if I was a politician, I would be honest. I went to a freak show and they let me in for nothing. I had a good time last week. I did a show; the whole audience was midgets. I got a standing ovation - I didnt even know it! Oh, last week was a rough week. I noticed my gums were shrinking. I was brushing my teeth with Preparation H. I drink too much. The last time I gave a urine sample it had an olive in it. This morning, when I put on my underwear, I could hear the Fruit-of-the-Loom guys laughing at me. His Wife My wife has to be the worst cook. Her specialty is indigestion. One day as I came home early from work... I saw a guy jogging naked. I said to the guy, Hey buddy, why are you doing that? He said, Because you came home early. My wife made me join a bridge club. I jump off next Tuesday. I havent spoken to my wife in years. I didnt want to interrupt her. Once, somebody stole our car. I asked my wife if she saw who it was. She said, No, but I did get the license number. With my  wife,  I  dont get no  respect. I made a toast on her birthday to the best woman a man ever had. The waiter joined me. My wife had her drivers test the other day. She got 8 out of 10. The other 2 guys jumped clear. I asked him, Who said you could fool around with my wife? He said, Everybody. Ill tell you one thing, I know how to satisfy my wife in bed.  Yeah, I leave. I told my wife the truth. I told her I was seeing a psychiatrist. Then she told me the truth: that she was seeing a psychiatrist, two plumbers, and a bartender. My wifes not too smart. I told her  our kids were spoiled. She said, All kids smell that way. My wife has to be the worst cook. Ive got the only dog who begs for Alka-Seltzer. Theres only one thing wrong with my wifes face - it shows. †¦went to a bar for a few drinks. The bartender asked what I wanted. Surprise me, I said. So he showed me a naked picture of my wife. My wife has to be the worst cook. I dont believe meatloaf should glow in the dark. My wife has to be the worst cook. In my house, we pray after we eat. I have good looking kids. Thank goodness my wife cheats on me. I went to look for a used car and found my wifes dress in the back seat. I remember one guy gave her a good piece of his mind. Yeah, it was right after she took a good piece of his leg. My marriage is on the rocks again.  Yeah, my wife just broke up with her  boyfriend. My wifes a great driver; she once hit a deer. It was in a zoo. There is a pair of shoes on the dashboard. They belong to the last guy she hit. My wife was afraid of the dark†¦ then she saw me naked and now shes afraid of the light. Why,  her cooking is so bad that the flies pitched in to fix the screen door. I leave dental floss in the kitchen and watch the roaches hang themselves.

Primary Operations IEP Goals for Math

Primary Operations IEP Goals for Math The Common Core State Standards, written for the Council of Chief State School Executives, have been adopted by 47 states. Many states are rolling out curriculum and assessments to align with these standards. Here are IEP goals aligned to the standards for young or severely disabled students. Kindergarten Operations and Algebraic Understanding (KOA) This is the lowest level of mathematical function, but still serves as a foundational basis for understanding operations. According to the Core Common State standards, students should be able to: Understand addition as putting together and adding to, and understand subtraction as taking apart and taking from. KOA1: Students will represent addition and subtraction with objects, fingers, mental images, drawings, sounds (e.g. claps,) acting out situations, verbal explanations, expressions, or equations. This standard is an effective strategy for teaching students with disabilities to model addition and subtraction, but difficult to write goals for. I will start with 2. KOA2: Students will solve addition and subtraction word problems, and add and subtract within 10, e.g., by using objects or drawings to represent the problem. (Addition) When presented with ten random sets of counters within ten, JOHNNY STUDENT, will solve problems modeled by the teacher with statements such as: Here are three counters. Here are four counters. How many counters altogether? correctly answering 8 out of 10, three out of four consecutive trials.(Subtraction) When presented with ten random sets of counters within ten, JOHNNY STUDENT will solve problems modeled by the teacher using statement, such as, Here are ten counters. I will take these away. How many are left? correctly answering 8 out of 10 (80%), three out of four consecutive trials. KOA3: Students will decompose numbers less than or equal to 10 into pairs in more than one way, e.g., by using objects or drawings, and record each decomposition by a drawing or equation (e.g., 5 2 3 and 5 4 1). When presented with ten random sets of counters within ten, JOHNNY STUDENT will divide the counters into two sets, placing each on a template with two squares, and writing a math statement for each set, (i.e. 4 4 8) correctly 8 of 10 probes (80%) , three of four consecutive trials. KOA4: For any number from 1 to 9, the student will find the number that makes 10 when added to the given number, e.g., by using objects or drawings, and record the answer with a drawing or equation. When presented with a random number on a card from 1 to 9, JOHNNY STUDENT will find the correct number of counters to add to the number to make ten, 8 out of 9 probes, (89%) for three of four consecutive trials. KOA5: Students will fluently add and subtract within 5. When randomly given 10 mixed flash cards with addition problems using numbers 0 through 5, and subtraction problems using numbers 0 through 5, JOHNNY STUDENT will correctly answer 9 of 10 in quick succession, three of four consecutive trials. First Grade Operations and Algebraic Thinking (1OA) Common Core Standards for first grade Operations and Algebraic Thinking from 1 through 4 are excellent for instruction, but Standards 5 and 6 will provide evidence of having mastered operations to 20. 1OA.5: Students will relate counting to addition and subtraction (e.g., by counting on 2 to add 2). This standard aligns well with two common methods for teaching addition and subtraction for students with learning disabilities: Touch Math and number lines. There are goals for each of these methods. For each of these goals, I would recommend the Math Worksheet Sit. You are able to control the range of problems that will be randomly generated at this free site. For Touch Math you can add the touch points after you have generated random addition or subtraction pages. I have also used the addition or subtraction pages that come with the students book for data collection. When given ten (10) addition problems with Touch Points, with addends to 9, JOHNNY STUDENT will write the correct answer, 8 out of 10 problems (80%) for three of four consecutive trials. When given ten (10) subtraction problems with Touch Points, with minuends to 18 and subtrahends to 9, JOHNNY STUDENT will write the correct answer, 8 out of 10 problems (80%) for three of four consecutive trials. When given a numberline to 20 and ten (10) addition problems with addends to 9, JOHNNY STUDENT will write the correct answer, 8 out of 10 problems (80%) for three of four consecutive trials. When given a numberline to 20 and ten (10) addition problems with addends to 9, JOHNNY STUDENT will write the correct answer, 8 out of 10 problems (80%) for three of four consecutive trials. 1OA.6 Add and subtract within 20, demonstrating fluency for addition and subtraction within 10. Use strategies such as counting on; making ten (e.g., 8 6 8 2 4 10 4 14); decomposing a number leading to a ten (e.g., 13 - 4 13 - 3 - 1 10 - 1 9); using the relationship between addition and subtraction (e.g., knowing that 8 4 12, one knows 12 - 8 4); and creating equivalent but easier or known sums (e.g., adding 6 7 by creating the known equivalent 6 6 1 12 1 13). This standard may make a good partner to teaching place value, by helping students find and see the ten in numbers between 11 and 20. I offer only one goal, as this is far more effective as an instructional strategy than a measurable goal. When given a random number of counters between 11 and 19 ten times (probes), JOHNNY STUDENT will regroup the number into a ten and ones, placing them on a work mat with two squares, one labeled ten, the other ones correctly 8 out of 10 probes (80%) in three of four consecutive trials.

English - Essay Example She worked as a school teacher for several years, but decided to further her education in western New York. After a year, she moved to New Jersey and established New Jersey’s first free public school. She was removed from her position at this school simply because she was a woman, prompting her to begin a personal quest for equal rights for women (National Park Service). Clara moved from New Jersey to work in the U.S. Patent Office as a clerk. While there, wounded soldiers began to stream into Washington D.C. She saw that the supplies the surgeons and doctors needed to adequately care for the wounded were not available. She was determined to do something. Barton solicited funds for supplies by advertising the plight of wounded soldiers in papers and magazines in New England. The effort was so successful, Clara Barton was appointed Superintendant of Nurses in 1861 and granted permission to travel to war zones to deliver supplies and care for the wounded (Faust). Clara Barton’s efforts during the Civil War were not limited to nursing. At the end of the war, 13,000 soldiers were still unidentified. She worked tirelessly to investigate who these men were so their families could receive word of their deaths. This daunting task left Clara exhausted physically and emotionally. She was sent to Europe to recuperate and to rest. While there, however, she witnessed the plight of civilians resulting from the Franco-Prussian War. A new chapter of caring was about to begin in Clara Barton’s life. While in Europe, Clara was introduced to a new organization known as the Red Cross. The Red Cross cared for the victims of war. Clara Barton returned to the United States eager to start the Red Cross here. She tried for many years but was unsuccessful because most Americans could not imagine fighting another war after the Civil War. After seven years of effort, the first American Red Cross chapter was opened in

But is it Art-Gender Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

But is it Art-Gender - Essay Example in this way, such as Gender and Genius written by Christine Battersby arguing about how the term genius came to be applied to men only and Gender and the Musical Canon by Marcia J. Citron in arguing why the female composer has been left out of academic texts recognizing the brilliant composers of history. It is presented as something different from sexual orientation as examples of Maplethorpe and the at least partially homoerotic depictions of Leonardo and Michelangelo are described. However, it is also used to apply to the images of art as being gendered. For example, the author talks about the image of flowers being primarily the subject of female artists while the images of people and historic events are the province of men, thus introducing gender into the very subject of the paintings. As the author points out, though, these definitions are not always as clear as they might seem, indicating the flower paintings of Monet and Van Gogh while also mentioning the restriction on wome n throughout much of history from participating in art classes that contained nude figures, making classical and historic depictions difficult if not impossible for the female artist. They pointed out the great absence of women in the creative world as creators and writers rather than as subjects to be consumed. In their posters and other publications, they made it clear that there were many more female creators operating in these fields than had been ‘discovered’ by the established art societies including fine art, theatre and film. They also made it clear that the voices of women can never be heard when translated through the medium of a man’s understanding by illustrating how the sexual imagery of recognized painters such as Georgia O’Keefe are denounced as overly obsessed with the concept of sex while similar imagery by male artists is honored as deeply philosophical, alluding to something greater than mere sex and compelling to the modern audience. Current Technology And Future Trends Computer Science Essay

Current Technology And Future Trends Computer Science Essay Server virtualization is the masking of server resources including the number and identity of individual physical servers, processors, and operating systems from server users. The intention is to spare the user from having to understand and manage complicated details of server resources while increasing resource sharing and utilization and maintaining the capacity to expand later. Virtualization allows multiple operating system instances to run concurrently on a single computer; it is a means of separating hardware from a single operating system. Each â€Å"guest† OS is managed by a Virtual Machine Monitor (VMM), also known as a hypervisor which is computer software/hardware platform virtualization software that allows multiple operating systems to run on a host computer concurrently. Because the virtualization system sits between the guest and the hardware, it can control the guests use of CPU, memory, and storage, even allowing a guest OS to migrate from one machine to another. Virtualization is a modified solution between centralized and decentralized deployments. Instead of purchasing and maintaining an entire computer for one application, each application can be given its own operating system, and all those operating systems can reside on a single piece of hardware. This provides the benefits of decentralization, like security and stability, while making the most of a machines resources. Advantages of Virtualization Zero downtime maintenance Freedom from vendor-imposed upgrade cycles Instant provisioning Pooling hardware resource Virtual hardware supports legacy operating systems efficiently Dynamic resource sharing Security and fault isolation Business continuity, backups, and automated restoration Examples of Productivity Using Virtualization When to use Virtualization As virtualization disentangles the operating system from the hardware, a number of very useful new tools become available. Virtualization allows an operator to control a guest operating systems use of CPU, memory, storage, and other resources, so each guest receives only the resources that it needs. This distribution eliminates the danger of a single runaway process consuming all available memory or CPU. It also helps IT staff to satisfy service level requirements for specific applications. Since the guest is not bound to the hardware, it also becomes possible to dynamically move an operating system from one physical machine to another. As a particular guest OS begins to consume more resources during a peak period, operators can move the offending guest to another server with less demand. This kind of flexibility changes traditional notions of server provisioning and capacity planning. With virtualized deployments, it is possible to treat computing resources like CPU, memory, and sto rage as a hangar of resources and applications can easily relocate to receive the resources they need at that time. Components of Virtual Infrastructure Bare-metal hypervisors to enable full virtualization of each x86 computer. Virtual infrastructure services such as resource management and consolidated backup to optimize available resources among virtual machines Automation solutions that provide special capabilities to optimize a particular IT process such as provisioning or disaster recovery. Physical to Virtual Server Migration Any respectable virtualization solution will offer some kind of P2V (Physical to Virtual) migration tool. The P2V tool will take an existing physical server and make a virtual hard drive image of that server with the necessary modifications to the driver stack so that the server will boot up and run as a virtual server. The benefit of this is that you dont need to rebuild your servers and manually reconfigure them as a virtual server—you simply suck them in with the entire server configuration intact! So if you have a data center full of aging servers running on sub-GHz servers, these are the perfect candidates for P2V migration. You dont even need to worry about license acquisition costs because the licenses are already paid for. You could literally take a room with 128 sub-GHz legacy servers and put them into eight 1U dual-socket quad-core servers with dual-Gigabit Ethernet and two independent iSCSI storage arrays all connected via a Gigabit Ethernet switch. The annual hardware maintenance costs alone on the old server hardware would be enough to pay for all of the new hardware! Just imagine how clean your server room would look after such a migration. It would all fit inside of one rack and give you lots of room to grow. As an added bonus of virtualization, you get a disaster recovery plan because the virtualized images can be used to instantly recover all your servers. Ask yourself what would happen now if your legacy server died. Do you even remember how to rebuild and reconfigure all of your servers from scratch? (Im guessing youre cringing right about now.) With virtualization, you can recover that Active Directory and Exchange Server in less than an hour by rebuilding the virtual server from the P2V image. Software Automation Solutions for Virtualization These are the few platform virtualization and software providers in the market on which organizations rely upon.  »Ã‚ »VMWare  »Ã‚ »RightScale  »Ã‚ »eNomaly  »Ã‚ »Force.com  »Ã‚ »Gigaspaces  »Ã‚ »Citrix  »Ã‚ »Xen  »Ã‚ »Microsoft Virtualization  »Ã‚ »Sun VirtualBox  »Ã‚ »IBM PowerVM  »Ã‚ » Hewlett-Packard Integrity Virtual Machines (Integrity VM). Future Trends in field of Virtualization Virtualization has significant cost benefits for organizations: server consolidation can yield a saving of  £2 million over three years for an organization running 250 dual-core servers; and a power saving in the order of  £78,000 per 1,000 PCs per year can be realized by moving from a full desktop PCs infrastructure to a server-hosted desktop virtualization solution. The market for virtualization management solutions will be the most innovative and, potentially, lucrative in the near future. Financial analysts estimate the market for IT virtualization could be worth over $19 billion. As many as 16 million desktops could be virtualized by 2011. The virtualization infrastructure management (VIM) market is undoubtedly going to be the most lucrative aspect of IT virtualization in the longer term, and so is perhaps the most dynamic and active part of the virtualization scene References: Emerging trends and the evolving vendor landscape By Victoria Furness Introduction to server virtualization by George Ou www.microsoft.com

Distinction between Microeconomics and Macroeconomics Essay

Microeconomics is the study of individual economic units of an economy whereas macroeconomics is the study of aggregates of an economy as a whole. For example, when we study of an individual sugar mill manufacturing sugar, our study is micro analysis but if we study the entire sugar manufacturing sector of the economy, our study is macro analysis. Also please note if we study the problem of production of a firm, our analysis is micro study but if we study the problems of production of the whole economy, our analysis is macro study. Both Microeconomics and Macroeconomics are inter-dependent and complementary. The main difference between the Microeconomics and Macroeconomics are as follows: Microeconomics Macroeconomics 1. It is the study of individual economic units of an economy It is the study of economy as a whole and its aggregates. 2. It deals with individual income, individual prices and individual output, etc. It deals with aggregates like national income, general price level and national output, etc. 3. Its Central problem is price determination and allocation of resources. Its central problem is determination of level of income and employment. 4. Its main tools are demand and suply of a particular commodity/factor. Its main tools are aggregate demand and aggregate supply of economy as a whole. 5. It helps to solve the central problem of what, how and for whom to produce in the economy It helps to solve the central problem of full employment of resources in the economy. 6. It discusses how equilibrium of a consumer, a producer or an industry is attained. It is concerned with the determination of equilibrium level of incoem and employment of the economy. 7. Price is the main determinant of microeconomic problems. Income is the major determinant of macroeconomic problems. 8. Examples are: individual income, individual savings, price determination of a commodity, individual firm’s output, consumer’s equilibrium. Examples  are: National income, national savings, general price level, aggregate demand, aggregate supply, poverty, unemployment etc.

Agile Project Management As A Method For More Effectively...

Thesis Statement This paper defines and describes agile project management as a method for more effectively managing and completing projects. This paper provides a general overview and introduction to the concepts of agile project management and the Scrum methodology in particular. Benefits of application of agile project management to more traditional approaches in project management will be examined in this paper. This paper will make an effort to look at everything that is right and also everything that is wrong with agile based on real implementations in companies. This paper provides a general overview and introduction to the concepts of agile project management and the Scrum methodology in particular and how agile can be used for IT†¦show more content†¦Project management also gives opportunities to expand services. In this paper, we are going to analyze the most widely known method of project management; agile project management. Agile has gained an enormous amount of popularity in the world of software development over the last few years due to benefits like increased business value and faster ROI, improved visibility and lower development costs, greater ability to respond to requested changes and decreased risk in solution delivery. The Agile Method ensures that value is optimized throughout the development process. The use of iterative planning and feedback results in teams that can continuously align a delivered product that reflects the desired needs of a client. It easily adapts to changing requirements throughout the process by measuring and evaluating the status of a project. The measuring and evaluating allows accurate and early visibility into the progress of each project. We will be comparing and contrasting the agile project management with the traditional project management in this paper. Traditional Project Management is a step-by-step approach of managing the project. Traditional approach is more appropriate for projects with clea r initial user requirements and with clear project goals, on the other hand, agile project management approach is intended before all to the creative, innovative projects, such

Robins Robins Case note - Free Essay Example

Sample details Pages: 4 Words: 1208 Downloads: 6 Date added: 2017/06/26 Category Law Essay Type Case study Did you like this example? Robins Robins Indemnity can be described as an obligation of making good any liability, damage or loss incurred by another party. In indemnity, one party to the contract holds the other party to the contract harmless for some damage or loss. In this case, the first defense Casings, Inc. will have is that there was a clause in the contract indemnifying it from defects beyond the cost of the supplied parts. Therefore, Casings, Inc. can argue that they are only liable to the extent of the supply they made to Robins Robins and not to the extent of the consumers of the products. The second defense will be that Robins Robins entered into a contract with Casings, Inc. willingly without being coerced and they read all the clauses in the contract and were in agreement with them before signing the contract. This means that they were aware of this clause and they were comfortable with it hence going against it will amount to breach of contract. A contract is an agre ement that is legally enforceable between two parties or more with mutual obligations. Damages is the remedy that exists at law for breaching a contract. The other remedy is monetary compensation. In equity, an injunction or specific performance of the contract, are the remedies. Both the law and equitable remedies award the party that is damaged the benefit of the contract bargain or expectation damages. These damages are greater than simple reliance damages, like in promissory estoppels. The facts of this case are that when Casings, Inc. and Robins Robins contracted, they ensured that the stated in Section 14B that à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“the remedy for defects in supplies shall be limited to the cost of the parts suppliedà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ . Vitiating factors, which constitute defenses to the purported formation of the contract include, duress and unconscionability. The fact that the products of Casings, Inc. are damaged makes the contract unconscionable. Robins Robins company has a rig ht of mitigating the damages caused to the company. The company can also sue for undue influence due to the clause 14B.2.a that was inserted in the contract, frustration of purpose or misrepresentation. Any ruleà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s validity can be determined upon petitioning for a declaratory judgment directed to the Court upon being alleged that the particular rule, either interferes with, impairs, immediately threatens to impair or interfere with, the privileges or the legal rights of the petitioner. Robins Robins can argue on this ground because the rule applies to it retroactively hence interfering with its privileges and legal rights. They can also argue that the FDA acted unconstitutionally because they imposed a retroactive rule that was only applicable to Robins Robins hence it was discriminatory. Another ground for challenging a regulation of an agency involves a requirement that a regulation can cease to apply if there was no application of the APAà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ s public input or comment, publication and notice, requirements by the agency. The procedures for making rules should be adhered to in order for the process of regulation and the rules resulting to be valid. An agency seeking public comment for drafting of legislation purpose cannot then change the legislation into a rule subsequent to the comment period. In this case, Robins Robins can argue that the agency did not follow due process in making the à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“tracking barà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ requirement applicable to them. There was no public input or comment, there was no publication and there was no notice before the implementation of the order by the FDA. Two major theories that would be applicable to this case are the negligence theory and the tort liability theory. A case against Robins Robins, the strict tort liability in 402A would be applicable because Robins Robins Company, the seller, sold a product that caused harm to customers. This liability will still stand regar dless of the existence of contractual limitations indemnifying the seller and regardless of the seller taking the necessary precautions and measures. In supporting this case, it would be essential to present the children and all the people affected by the products and those who perished as a result of the inadequate tests of the drugs by Robins Robins and defective manufacturing. Due to the very strong nature of the case against Robins Robins, they might not be able to have a defense for the suit against them. However, Robins Robins can argue that there was contributory negligence by Casings, Inc. because they were involved in supplying the products to Robins Robins. Therefore, Robins Robins can make a claim of contributory negligence against Casings, Inc. A case of negligence can be filed against the FDA. This is because their actions led to people being exposed to harm. They owe the public a duty to protect them from harmful products from various companies. They had a d uty to subject Robins Robins to the tracking bar rule in order for the safety of the consumers and the general public. The FDA can also be held liable for the acts of their employee who was bribed. However, the FDA can argue that the employee was acting on his own behalf and not on behalf of the FDA. This defense might not succeed because the employee is liable criminally but professionally, the FDA is liable for his actions because it has control over its employees. For Casings, Inc., a case of contributory negligence can be instituted against them. This is because they were the producers of the products that caused harm to the consumers. Despite the fact that they were not the direct suppliers of the products, they contributed in the negligence which led to many people becoming sick and others dying, Casings, Inc. will not have a defense against this suit. After taking the civic comments, the FDA will propagate the absolute regulation. Then, whichever interested party has t he ability to dispute the regulation legitimacy within court. The party has an extremely intricate burden to meet, and the party would probably fail. A party can dispute a regulation given that it is subjective and capricious. This needs the bureau to provide substantiation that supports the anticipated regulation. The second way to dispute a regulation is by claiming that the rule is outside the bureau authority. It is difficult to substantiate since the majority of bureaus stay inside authority set for them within their facilitating acts. If Robins did not take part within the comments, then the situation would be different. The exhaustion of solutions to a predicament needs that every existing step be pursued within the bureauà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s procedures prior to taking legal action. These regulations are important to prevent court overloading with queries that may not even be arguments by when the bureaus conclude what their closing orders or verdicts will be.
